A West Seattle community is grappling with the tragic news of a woman killed in a daylight shooting incident. According to Seattle Police Department's Blotter, detectives are on the case following a shooting that claimed the life of a 57-year-old woman.
The incident unfolded just after 1 pm when authorities received calls of gunfire on the 4400 block of Southwest Hudson Street. Upon their arrival, police found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso area. Efforts to save her were quickly underway. However, despite the immediate aid provided by officers and the subsequent assistance by the Seattle Fire Department, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the shooting, the Homicide Unit is investigating what led to the violence. While details are limited, the SPD has stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. The woman's identity and any suspects or motives are still under investigation.
