The Williamson County Fair & Rodeo, a notable community event, is back in action and began on Wednesday with an opportunity for families to enjoy free admission. As reported by KXAN News, this year marks the fair's fourth anniversary and showcases its continued growth with plans for a new practice facility, anticipated to be ready by 2026. Among the festivities including pig races, a petting zoo, and the central rodeo event, the fair aims to give visitors a taste of Texas culture.

The event, running from Wednesday, Oct. 23 through Saturday, Oct. 26, will only offer free entry on the opening day, with costs for carnival rides being separate. Ticket prices for adults vary, ranging from $14 to $20, depending on both the day and purchase method, whether online or in-person. Further details on pricing can be found on the event's official website. The Williamson County Fair & Rodeo is also reportedly working to extend its reach beyond mere entertainment.

Meanwhile, the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo has also opened its gates, emphasizing safety in conjunction with fun. KXXV shared insights from Wes Allison, President and CEO of the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo, who noted the extensive safety measures in place. "They’ll lay out the grounds, we’ll talk about where cords are going — where we need to cover things, and all those kinds of things," Allison said, underscoring the fair's dedicated approach to hazard prevention.

The carnival provider, 'AMP', takes charge of ride safety by conducting regular inspections with their in-house team as well as state inspectors. Allison cited ongoing safety protocols stating: "Nightly once they finish, they’ll inspect them, post us closing the gates and again before we open, and then they’ll do another inspection with their inspection staff that goes through them." These practices, including secret shopper exercises to test operators, are designed to maintain the welfare of the Central Texas community. Additionally, the Heart O' Texas Fair & Rodeo has introduced a cashless system for carnival games and rides, using a digital currency called 'Magic Money'. Information regarding the safety policies and the digital currency can be found by visiting the fair's website.
