Adams Morgan in Washington, D.C. has set up special bins outside pizza shops to help with the problem of pizza boxes littering the streets. The bins cost $2,000 and are meant to keep the sidewalks clean, control rodents, and make it easier for cleaning crews. Brian Barrie from the Adams Morgan Partnership says the bins will help organize trash and improve the area, according to FOX 5.

Large pizza boxes, which are difficult to recycle in standard bins, have been a challenge for local authorities. However, new rectangular bins, recently introduced, are now providing a solution. This effort began in 2021, following a need identified by the neighborhood's Business Improvement District, as reported by WUSA9.

Kristen Barden, Executive Director of the Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District, said the new recycling bins for pizza boxes are a good improvement. "This is a better solution to organize the pizza boxes. Our Clean Team empties all the trash and recycling cans every day so this will help to organize the pizza boxes better for collection." The bins aim to reduce litter and make trash collection easier, as stated by Waste360.
