In a move seen as one of the largest single expansions in its operational history, Allegiant Travel Company has just laid down the gauntlet with 44 new nonstop routes tying the record for its most significant growth to date, Colorado Springs.gov reports. Including service to three new cities, this major development is set to bring increased connectivity and ultra-low-fare travel options to underserved markets, making it easier and more affordable for leisure travelers to take to the skies.
Highlighting the introduction of three new airport connections to its service map, Gulf Shores International Airport in Alabama, Colorado Springs Airport in Colorado, and Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina, the airline isn't just making a few minor tweaks, but connecting a substantial number of dots across the United States and broadening its reach. Colorado Springs residents in particular are in for a treat with new flights to in-demand destinations like Phoenix/Mesa, Santa Ana/Orange County, and St. Pete/Tampa and the one-way fares starting as low as $39 are sure to stir up some travel fever.
According to the City of Colorado Springs, Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief commercial officer, commented on this development, stating, "These additions reflect our ongoing commitment to meet customer demand," highlighting Allegiant's ability to provide "affordability and convenience" for vacationers. The company's strategy focuses on offering nonstop flights and competitive pricing, which distinguishes it as a preferred airline for leisure travel, particularly in markets that previously had sporadic or nonexistent air service options.
Greg Phillips, Director of Aviation for Colorado Springs Airport COS, expressed the community's enthusiasm about Allegiant's arrival stating the partnership fulfills a "long expressed desire for convenient and low-cost travel options," as per City of Colorado Springs. Allegiant is banking on its proven model that caters to leisure demand, synchronizing service start times with peak travel periods such as holidays, and school breaks, all setting up the stage for a banner year in 2025 and flying on the wings of customer-focused air travel.
