Anne Arundel County is gearing up to implement new speed enforcement measures to tackle the issue of speeding on its roads. According to an announcement by the Anne Arundel County Police Department, residents can expect to see new automated speed enforcement cameras popping up in a pair of non-school-zone locations later this month.
The additional cameras will be activated on November 25 and operate continuously, monitoring vehicle speeds daily at all hours. Drivers caught speeding in these areas won't immediately receive penalties, with a 15-day warning period being offered — during which time offenders will be issued warnings instead of citations. The cameras will be installed in specific areas identified as the 900 block of Patuxent Road, Odenton, and the 2900 block of Jessup Road, Jessup, the police department's website detailed.
The county's website provides a comprehensive list and additional resources for those interested in learning more about the specific locations of all active automated enforcement cameras or for more information about the county’s speed enforcement initiatives.
