As Columbus City Schools prepares for the upcoming academic year, families with students entering 7th through 12th grades can now mark their calendars for a series of forthcoming informational sessions on the College Credit Plus (CCP) program, offering a head start on college education. According to the Columbus City Schools website, the CCP program allows eligible students to earn college credits while still in high school, with admissions determined by the partner college or university providing the courses.
For a more personalized experience, participants may choose from various session formats, including in-person meetings and live online webinars, to gain insight into the CCP program's structure and requirements for the 2025-2026 school year. The first of these sessions will be held on Dec. 11 as a webinar starting at 6:30 p.m. For families unable to attend in real-time, a pre-recorded video presentation is also available for viewing at one's leisure, ensuring no one misses out due to scheduling conflicts.
Each session will offer attendees an overview of the CCP program, including information on the next steps for interested students, and will also feature representatives from various colleges and universities. These representatives will be on hand to answer individual questions about their specific application process. It’s imperative for students planning to take CCP courses to participate in one of these sessions; attendance is a yearly requirement, as is the submission of a Letter of Intent.
The school district clearly states that these meetings are informative and mandatory for all students considering embarking on CCP coursework, whether onsite at a college campus, online, or within the high school itself. The sessions are scheduled through February 27, 2025, with an additional webinar offering flexibility for those preferring or requiring a virtual option. Registration for all information sessions can be found on the Higher Education Partnerships Department webpage via the Columbus City Schools website, ensuring an accessible path to advanced education opportunities within the CCS community.
