Early Monday, a disturbing find alongside the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles prompted an ongoing investigation. A decomposing body was discovered on the embankment of the southbound side of the freeway. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) received the call about the grim discovery near the interchange with Mulholland Drive and Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood Hills at approximately 1:30 a.m., as reported by KTLA.
Authorities found the body situated between two concrete pillars, on the right shoulder embankment. However, despite their efforts information about how long the body had been there or what preceded its unearthing remains uncertain.
Officials have yet to discern the cause of death, and, no identifying information on the decedent has been released. The CHP refrained from providing details on the gender or age of the deceased individual, as per NBC Los Angeles.
Authorities remain at the scene as the investigation is ongoing, according to FOX LA. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
