Denver is pushing its global integration one step further by tying knots with Munich, Germany. In a move that aims to spur business and innovation, officials from The City and County of Denver have signed a City2City agreement with the German locale. Announced by the Denver government's official news channel, this agreement is designed to foster a symbiotic relationship that could see both Denver and Munich thrive in a host of industries.
According to the City and County of Denver, the partnership facilitated in part by connections within Denver’s German-American community and the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Colorado, opens doors for eligible businesses. Under the terms detailed in the agreement, companies from both cities can look forward to support services including connections to local networks and the ability to access free or discounted workspaces for up to three months. It's a move that stands to benefit businesses eyeing to scale, as they gain access to the resources and connections necessary to foster growth in new markets.
With deep-set synergies in sectors like aerospace and bioscience, Denver and Munich aren't strangers to collaboration. Their two airports have been sister airports since 1991, and Denver boasts two daily non-stop flights to Munich, strengthening the bond between these distant allies. This connection is buoyed by Colorado's German-affiliated population of more than a million, scholars, artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators building the bridge across continents.
