Gerald Boyle, the Milwaukee lawyer known for representing serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, has passed away at the age of 88. His daughter, Bridget Boyle, announced his death in a Facebook post, stating, "It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved father, Gerald Boyle, who departed this world to be with his Lord on November 17, 2024," as reported by FOX6.
Boyle's death was confirmed by his daughter, who noted that there was no specific cause given, though he had been facing health challenges since 2017. Known for his role in the 1992 Dahmer case, which made him one of Wisconsin's most prominent defense attorneys, Boyle’s legacy extended beyond that high-profile case. "Over a remarkable career spanning decades, he fearlessly championed countless high-profile cases, earning widespread respect for his sharp legal mind and compassionate heart," his daughter, Bridget Boyle, shared with WISN.
A visitation for Boyle will be held on November 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. The Mass will be celebrated by The Most Reverend Jerome Listecki, Archbishop of Milwaukee. Boyle is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marna, and their three children, Ellen, Bridget, and Gerald, who have both worked alongside him in the legal profession, according to FOX6.
