Former Las Vegas Raiders player Henry Ruggs, who was convicted in a fatal DUI crash that took the life of a woman and her dog, has been moved to transitional housing, as per records from the Nevada Department of Corrections. The transition was reported by FOX5 Vegas. Ruggs, 25, has begun the next phase of his incarceration at Casa Grande Transitional Housing after serving time at the governor's mansion as part of his sentence.

According to information obtained from the Nevada Department of Corrections website and noted by the Review Journal, Casa Grande, situated a convenient less than a mile from Allegiant Stadium, is a facility that accommodates up to 400 non-violent offenders nearing their parole eligibility. The center aims to facilitate residents in finding employment and securing permanent housing before their reintegration into the community.

Ruggs' status as a "Community Trustee" indicates that he has "limited potential to misbehave" and a low escape risk, allowing him certain liberties, such as leaving the correctional facility for outside work without direct supervision, as stated by the Review Journal. He was initially incarcerated at High Desert State Prison, then transferred to Stewart Conservation Camp before arriving at Casa Grande. This series of relocations followed his guilty plea to felony DUI resulting in death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charges. He was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison on August 9, 2023.

The tragic crash, occurring on November 2, 2021, involved Ruggs speeding in his Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at up to 156 mph when he collided with Tina Tintor's SUV. The violence of the collision engulfed Tintor's vehicle in flames, leading to her and her dog's death. After the incident, it was revealed that Ruggs' blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent, as mentioned by FOX5 Vegas, which is twice the legal limit in Nevada. Ruggs was released from the Raiders in the wake of the crash.
