In observance of Veterans Day, Fort Collins is shutting the doors to all city offices on Monday, Nov. 11. However, the city isn’t coming to a complete standstill, as services deemed essential like fire, police, and utilities operations, will carry on undisrupted. According to the City of Fort Collins, “The Gardens on Spring Creek and all recreation facilities will remain open.” Meanwhile, the Museum of Discovery plans to take a breather, keeping its doors locked to the public on the holiday.
For those who rely on public transportation, there’s good news: Transfort will operate on its usual schedule. However, all Transfort offices will be closed in observance of the holiday. Residents can find this information, as per the City of Fort Collins, reminding them that “Transfort will maintain regular service, but all Transfort offices will be closed.”
The City is also extending an invitation to its annual Veterans Day Breakfast taking place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Fort Collins Senior Center, as per the information on the City of Fort Collins. The City hopes to gather the community together to celebrate and honor those who have served.
After the long weekend, normalcy will resume as the city stipulates. All city offices and facilities will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Nov. 12. Whether you plan to spend the day reflecting on military service or enjoying Fort Collins' public spaces, the city has set the stage for a Veterans Day that accommodates both remembrance and recreation.
