
The Hudson Fire in Bastrop County has burned over 400 acres, prompting Governor Greg Abbott to increase the state's wildfire response. According to the Office of the Texas Governor, additional resources are being deployed to support efforts to contain the fire.
Governor Abbott stated, "The State of Texas continues to deploy all available resources to protect Texans in Bastrop County from the Hudson Fire." He emphasized the role of first responders and urged residents to follow local guidelines during the wildfire. Abbott issued a disaster declaration for 143 counties, including Bastrop, due to the growing wildfire risks, and additional counties may be added if conditions worsen, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
Governor Greg Abbott has deployed over 90 responders and 60 pieces of equipment to assist with the Hudson Fire in Bastrop County. The response includes firefighters, Texas Highway Patrol troopers, medics, and personnel to help with animal evacuation. Texas is currently at Wildland Fire Preparedness Level 3, reflecting the ongoing wildfire risk. In the past week, 27 new wildfires have burned more than 1,500 acres, as mentioned by the Office of the Texas Governor.
