A slice of fortune has found its way to a Baltimore County man who, while maintaining his anonymity, is stepping into the spotlight with a significant lottery win. As reported by NottinghamMD, the local man, a landscaper by trade, won $500,000 from the Maryland Lottery by scoring the top prize on a $500,000 Crossword scratch-off ticket.
The winner, who hails from Gwynn Oak, is said to indulge in a modest Lottery hobby, scratching off tickets one to two times per week. His lackadaisical approach to the game—selecting random instant tickets without preference—paid off when he revealed a bonanza at his home after purchasing two $20 scratch-offs from a 7-Eleven at 1001 Aviation Boulevard in Anne Arundel County. According to a Shore News Network report, his chosen letters crafted ten words in the second puzzle of the game, clinching him the grand prize.
The 7-Eleven that sold the winning ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery. This win is not just a big moment for the lucky man but also a small boost for the store and a reminder of how a simple ticket can turn into a life-changing event.
