The City of Long Beach has announced a community meeting slated for December 9th to provide updates on the development of the new Long Beach Senior Center, which will be situated at 125 Elm Ave, as reported by the city's official press release. This gathering is an opportunity for Long Beach residents to hear directly from the Departments of Parks, Recreation and Marine and Public Works, review the results from a recently conducted community survey, and understand how their feedback is shaping the design phase of the senior center.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the existing Long Beach Senior Center located at 1150 E. 4th St.; residents will have a chance to ask questions, offer additional feedback, and learn more about the features planned for the new facility, the event will also include a Q&A session and further chances for public input. Post-meeting, information will continue to be accessible, with printed fliers in English, Spanish, Khmer, and Tagalog distributed at Long Beach Senior Centers, and details also made available online, as detailed by the City of Long Beach.
Spanning 44,514 square feet, the new senior center at 125 Elm Ave will feature a range of services including social and recreational programs, health and wellness activities, meals and nutritional guidance, cultural enrichment, and more. The center is designed to serve as a crucial hub for community and support networks, and for seniors to access various services and information essential for their well-being.
