Los Angeles has marked the beginning of its holiday season with the arrival of a towering Christmas tree at The Grove. Standing at 100 feet, the white fir tree, which, according to KTLA, is 80 years old and was transported over a 10-hour journey from Mt. Shasta.

The installation of the tree was a grand operation involving a massive crane, ready to hoist the festive giant into place. As getting the tree settled, it will be adorned with 15,000 lights and 10,000 ornaments over about one week, CBS News detailed how this holiday centerpiece rivals the tree at New York City's Rockefeller Center.

The Grove's property manager, Erica Tuttle, in a statement obtained by KTLA, expressed excitement for the upcoming festivities, noting, "We're ready to get it going." The Grove looks to offer Los Angeles a grand spectacle with their tree-lighting ceremony scheduled for Nov. 25 at 7 p.m., a traditional event that draws crowds eager to kick off their holiday celebrations.

Apart from the lighting ceremony, visitors will be treated to another tradition starting Nov. 25 — nightly snowfall that will occur throughout the season. While the snow is artificial, it adds to the festive atmosphere, prompting guests to congregate and enjoy the season's pleasures. Additional holiday activities at The Grove include photo opportunities with Santa Claus, which, alluding to a grander city-wide celebration of the season, begin on Nov. 26, as NBC Los Angeles reported.

With the blend of holiday scents, lights, and decorations, The Grove is set to be a staple for Los Angeles's holiday festivities, continuing a tradition that for many signifies the start of a season filled with joy and community spirit.
