Delaware, Ohio's longstanding industrial player, Luvata, Ohio, is ramping up its facilities to cater to the bourgeoning demands of the electric vehicle market and associated green energy projects. The company, which traces its beginnings to the Nippert Company almost six decades ago, is embarking on an expansion project that will introduce 50 new jobs to the community over the next decade. The move comes amidst a surge in the need for electrical components and infrastructure enhancements.

Luvata's growth spurt includes the leasing of a 128,000-square-foot space on Pittsburgh Drive, as confirmed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony held last week, November 8. Dirk Greywitt, Luvata's Executive Vice President, remarked on the company's history in a statement obtained by the City of Delaware's official site, "Our roots and history in Delaware run deep. The company first opened business in Delaware in 1966 at 801 Pittsburgh Drive and has been operating here ever since."

City officials are backing this industrial surge. Delaware City Manager Paul Brake acknowledged the company's growth as crucial, stating via the City of Delaware's official site, "Supporting existing businesses like Luvata is vital for our community's growth." Luvata's Director of Business Development, Brian Swank, outlined the strategic importance of copper in the next generation of electric vehicles and infrastructure, hinting at the broader implications of the company's expansion.

With the current workforce at Luvata, Ohio, numbering 125, adding 50 jobs aligns with the company's vision for the future. This resonates with Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce President Holly Quaine's comments about Luvata's significance to the local and regional economies. "Luvata is important for both our local and regional economy. Their growth brings jobs and strengthens our position as a hub for manufacturing and innovation," she told the City of Delaware's official site. The new facility will be equipped with cutting-edge cold forming, machining, and robotic automation to ensure efficiency and quality in production.
