
The Metropolitan Police Department is turning to the public for assistance in the search for a suspect linked to multiple sexual abuse offenses in Northwest D.C. In a chilling pattern of predawn violence, a male suspect has been reported to have committed a pair of assaults, which took place under the cover of darkness within close temporal proximity.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the first incident unfolded last Friday at around 5:00 a.m. The suspect, described as a thin-built black male, about 5’8" to 5’10" in height, brandished a firearm at the victim standing in the 1400 block of Ogden Street, NW. After making unwelcome sexual contact with her, the individual sporting dark clothing and a ski mask, made his escape. The case number for this offense has been marked as CCN: 24170597.
Merely two days later, a second assault was perpetrated in a strikingly similar manner. It was around the same early hour yesterday when the assailant targeted another victim. This time, the confrontation occurred in the 4500 block of 15th Street, Northwest. The suspect, using the threat of a handgun, coerced the victim into an alley where he engaged in an unlawful sexual act before once again fleeing the scene. The police have documented this particular crime under CCN: 24170903.
The MPD has made a public appeal, urging those with any knowledge about these serious incidents to come forward. As an incentive, a reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that culminates in the arrest and indictment of the individual or individuals responsible for these crimes in the District of Columbia. The authorities have cautioned the public to avoid approaching the suspect and to immediately contact the police at (202) 727-9099.
