An MTA employee was assaulted after requesting a subway rider put out his marijuana cigarette in Brooklyn, as per officials from the NYPD, the incident taking place on Nov. 1, around the early hours of the day at the New Lots Avenue subway station. The 58-year-old train operator, as per PIX11, was punched multiple times in the head and face by a man whom he had approached for smoking marijuana on the 3 train platform leading to the worker falling to the ground.
The attacker absconded from the scene, boarding a southbound 3 train, following the altercation, an escape that left the train operator with painful injuries demanding medical care, this aggression calls attention to the risks transit workers face while enforcing rules put in place for the safety, and the comfort of all who navigate the subterranean veins of the city. As reported by Patch, the victim sustained bruises and pain but was deemed stable after being taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Brookdale.
