
A somber sequence of events unfolded in Tacoma's West End this past Wednesday evening, as a man lost his life in a hit-and-run incident. According to The News Tribune, the victim was fatally struck by a vehicle, and "the driver was later arrested."
The Tacoma Police Department, emboldened by a witness who followed the fleeing driver, was able to apprehend the suspect. A crucial contribution from this observant civilian provided, "critical information" about the vehicle involved in the tragic event, as reported by KING 5 News.
The aftermath of the collision called for an intensive investigation at the crash site. Detailed work was conducted by crime scene technicians and the accident investigation team from the Tacoma Police Department. In light of the findings, and the severity of the incident, it is being processed as vehicular homicide. The Pierce County jail received the driver, booked on one count of felony hit and run and vehicular homicide, as noted by KOMO News.
