
Tragedy struck on Thanksgiving morning as two people lost their lives in a shooting on the East Side of San Antonio. According to a report by FOX San Antonio, the incident occurred just after 8 a.m. at a residence off Potomac Street, near St. James Street. Two other individuals were injured in the event and have been hospitalized, with their conditions yet to be disclosed.
Leaving the house this morning, the suspect, a young man in his 20s, began opening fire for reasons not currently known. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus explained the victims knew each other and had been staying overnight in the home. In a statement obtained by News 4 San Antonio, "San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said four people were found shot, two were dead." At present, the suspect is in custody.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing. Chief McManus told FOX San Antonio that the police are awaiting a search warrant to thoroughly investigate the premises. The area around the scene of the shooting was populated with emergency response teams and detectives, working to uncover the details leading up to the incident. Currently, there is no word on the motives that instigated the shooting, and the identities of the deceased have not been disclosed pending family notification.
