The Wilson Police Department is currently on the lookout for James Casey Dove, a 32-year-old man suspected of robbing the Circle H Store on Raleigh Road Parkway this past Friday night. Dove allegedly made off with an undisclosed amount of money, after which a pursuit by police ended near the Wiggins Mill boat ramp where he successfully evaded capture on foot, as reported by WRAL.
Wilson Police responded to the robbery call around 7:36 a.m. Saturday morning, it was exacerbated by the discovery of the suspect’s green Ford truck with a camper shell near Sheetz on Forest Hills Road, according to a press release from the Wilson Police Department, he fled the scene leading to an intense chase that concluded without Dove's arrest. The chain of events led to an arrest warrant being obtained for Dove on the count of common law robbery, as noted by CBS 17.
Further details released by Sgt. Eric McInerny of the Wilson Police indicated that the authorities were able to identify Dove as the suspect through surveillance footage and information linked to the vehicle Restoration News Media reported. Dove is also known to authorities as an absconder from probation/parole supervision, having been convicted of speeding to elude arrest back in 2017 in Columbus County.
