
A tragic incident unfolded late Wednesday night in Parkland as deputies responded to a disturbing 911 call—a woman, covered in blood, wandering on the 10200 block of Ainsworth Ave S, pleading for help.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department blog, deputies arrived at 11:30 pm to assist the woman and quickly investigated the nearby residence, where they discovered a 62-year-old man dead outside of the home, the scene was grim and the details as reported are sparse but the impact of such violence reverberates throughout the Parkland community.
The woman, visibly in distress, was said to have stabbed her husband; following the discovery, she was detained while detectives along with forensic investigators arrived to gather evidence and document the scene of the crime.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department's official report on the matter confirmed that the 52-year-old woman was arrested and has been booked into the Pierce County Jail on charges of Murder in the 2nd Degree, with the community now grappling with the reality of this domestic violence homicide and the painful questions such events inevitably raise.
