Anne Arundel County is celebrating the success of its public schools following the release of the latest star rating results. The results indicate that 21 schools in the county have seen a rise in ratings, with over half of them securing four or five stars. The ratings indicate solid performance and improvement across the county's educational institutions.
County Executive Steuart Pittman expressed his pride in the results, noting that the schools consistently exceed state averages. “The rise in star ratings for 21 Anne Arundel County Public Schools, with 53 percent earning four or five stars, is a proud moment for our county," Pittman said, according to a statement from the Anne Arundel County Government. The statement emphasized the collective effort of educators, students, families, and specifically the leadership of Superintendent Dr. Mark Bedell.
Pittman's statement also highlighted the role of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future in supporting the Community Schools, which contributes to the leveling of the playing field for all students through equitable investments. The increase in ratings was touted as proof of the program’s positive impact on student outcomes.
