
A tragic incident occurred near Boulder where a 42-year-old hiker lost his life after falling from the Second Flatiron. According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the man was reported overdue by friends last night, when he failed to return home around dusk.
Searching for their missing friend, they discovered his body on a rock ledge. Responded to the scene were several local agencies, including the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, the Boulder Parks and Open Space Rangers, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue group, among others. Together with the American Medical Response ambulance, the Boulder Emergency Squad, and the Boulder County Coroner's office, the remains of the decedent were recovered.
The identity of the deceased man is currently withheld, as the Boulder County Coroner's Office is awaiting to make an identification and notify the next of kin. The specific circumstances surrounding the fall remain under investigation by local authorities.
