Bucks County Physician Charged with Illegal Prescription Practices in JenkintownSource: Bucks County Government

A Bucks County doctor has found himself on the wrong side of the law after charges were laid against him for the misuse of his prescribing powers. Dr. Kenneth Fox, 55, from Jenkintown faces multiple counts relating to illegal prescription practices of the opioid treatment drug, suboxone.

According to an official statement released by the Bucks County Government, the allegations include 12 counts of administration of any controlled substance by a practitioner, furnishing false or fraudulent records, and three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Fox's arraignment took place yesterday before Magisterial District Judge Charles D. Jonas, setting bail at $75,000 with the option to post 10 percent.

The investigation into Fox's activities began back in November 2023 after the Middletown Township Police Department reported a complaint against him to the Bucks County Detectives. Previously affiliated with Jefferson Health, Fox was dismissed but continued to see patients in a basement office situated within the same building he once practiced above ground.

It was unearthed during the investigation that Fox engaged in what was described as "suspicious and questionable practices." According to the Bucks County Government's official release, the questionable methodologies included Fox's continued patient consultations despite his termination from Jefferson Health. His makeshift office was located on Frosty Hollow Road, Middletown Township.

The case continues to unfold as the legal process takes its course. Dr. Kenneth Fox remains in custody at the Bucks County Correctional Facility, awaiting the next steps in the judicial proceedings regarding the alleged prescription infractions.
