Firefighting crews swiftly extinguished the bulk of the fire before 9:30 p.m., focusing their efforts on the building's exterior roof. DC Fire and EMS Department confirmed on social media that no injuries were reported at the time and that they were working on hotspots post-extinguishment. Incident details were somewhat scarce, though the swift action of D.C.'s first responders prevented what could have potentially been a tragic holiday disaster.
