The city of Columbus is contending with the aftermath of a grave tragedy as police continue their investigation into the murders of three women on the South Side. The victims, identified as Sierra Muse, 34, Dawn Clover, 49, and Tiffany Parrish, 36, were found shot to death last Saturday afternoon at a residence on the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue. According to The Columbus Dispatch, the Columbus Division of Fire medics pronounced the victims dead at 4 p.m., and, as of this report, no suspects have been announced in relation to the triple homicide.
Witnesses and residents express their distress and search for answers as the neighborhood still reels from the events. "Three women were killed when we found out about that. That really upset us," Wendell Hancock, a long-time resident, disclosed in an interview obtained by NBC4i. Hancock shared that the residence where the heinous act occurred had been the subject of neighborhood complaints, citing constant traffic in and out of the house.
Adding to the community's anxiety, this incident follows another deadly shooting in the neighborhood that occurred just the previous week, less than a mile away, wherein 45-year-old Darrell Hambrick was fatally shot. The ABC6 reports also mention that Hambrick had connections to the same address where the three women were found dead. Police have arrested 39-year-old Haikiem Graham in connection to Hambrick's murder, but they have not confirmed whether the two cases are related.
As family members mourn and seek clarity, statements from relatives reveal their grief and incomprehension. "They had to be so scared," said Dawn Clover's uncle, Danny Clover, in a statement obtained by ABC6. "Who shoots women? I mean, why? I don't understand it."
