Three months have elapsed since the tragic death of 14-year-old Darean Davis at the Michigan State Fair in Novi, and authorities are still hunting for his killer. To coax new leads, Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward of $2,500 for information that could lead to an arrest in the case. The shooting, which claimed the life of the young Detroit native and injured another teen, took place on August 31 in a parking lot of the Suburban Collection Showplace, as per details from WWJ Newsradio.
Additional information from the official social media post of the MSP Second District confirmed that troopers from the Michigan State Police, canine units, and a helicopter responded to a call for assistance from the Novi Police Department around 10:05 p.m. on the night of the incident. Despite extensive efforts, including establishing a perimeter and clearing the convention center, the armed suspect eluded capture that evening.

Darean, known affectionately among his peers as DeeDee, was remembered as a "vibrant, silly, and respectful young man" by Dr. Devon Buskin, founder and CEO of the Detroit City Lions Youth Club, where Darean was a former member. "Dee Dee was a very vibrant, silly, and respectful young man, that loved the sport, and was always helping me out with anything I asked him, even if he didn’t feel like it after or before practice," Dr. Buskin shared in a tribute on social media, as WWJ Newsradio reported.
The investigation remains in the hands of the Novi Police Department. They are asking anyone with pertinent information to come forward and reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or visit their website, with assurances that informants can remain anonymous.
