A Thanksgiving Day dispute in Fort Worth escalated to gunfire, leaving one man critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds, as reported by local authorities. Fort Worth police responded to the incident at around 8:35 p.m. in the block of 7000 Sylvan Meadows Drive, where they discovered the adult male victim.
Officers at the scene quickly administered medical treatment to the wounded man before he was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital. According to a report by NBC DFW, the victim is currently fighting for his life in critical condition with injuries that were described as life-threatening. The suspected shooter, identified as Curtis McClarin, is believed to have immediately fled the site of the shooting but was later apprehended close to the location.
The ongoing police investigation revealed that the victim and the alleged perpetrator, 42-year-old Curtis McClarin, were acquainted with each other and an argument had sparked the violent encounter. WFAA notes that the details surrounding the nature of the argument have not been disclosed to the public as of yet.
McClarin now faces charges including aggravated assault causing serious bodily harm and evading arrest, with authorities setting his bond at $50,000. His detention details, recorded in the Fort Worth Jail, shrouded behind the technicalities of law and order, do not yet list legal representation for him.
