Frank Santos Takes the Helm at Rosen Hotels & Resorts, Vows to Uphold Harris Rosen's Vision for Orlando's FutureSource: Google Street View

Tourism and philanthropy in Central Florida face a new chapter as Rosen Hotels & Resorts, a dominant force in the region's hospitality industry, embarks on its future without its late founder. Harris Rosen, a name deeply etched into the fabric of Orlando's tourist economy and its surrounding communities, passed away on November 25 at the age of 85 after a brief battle with cancer. In the wake of his death, Frank Santos, the company's long-serving Vice President and CFO, has been announced as the new CEO, vowing to stay true to Rosen's legacy.

"While Harris’ passing leaves a void that can never truly be filled, his value and vision will always continue to guide us forward," said Santos in a statement reported by WFTV. Santos promised Rosen’s contributions, particularly those benefiting families and children in underserved communities, would persist. The company's plans include substantial growth with an expansion at Rosen Center, which is expected to add 400 guestrooms, and the brand steadfastly is not for sale.

Under Rosen's tenure, the firm grew to encompass seven properties with over 6,600 rooms and employed 4,500 individuals. These hotels have not only shaped the skyline but also the lives of tens of thousands. Santos has pledged to build upon this foundation and continue the strides Rosen had envisioned for the company. "I'm definitely looking forward to the growth of the company that Rosen already had steps in place for us to build upon what we have," Santos told WESH, disclosing plans for the company's expansion adjacent to the convention center.
