
Authorities have reported an arrest following an altercation in the Northwest district of the city. On Sunday, a call brought Second District officers to the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue, Northwest, prompted by a reported assault. According to the Metropolitan Police Department the argument, which escalated when a man allegedly brandished a handgun at another individual, occurred during a dispute between coworkers.
The incident swiftly led to police involvement, with officers arriving at the scene around 2:56 p.m. The suspect was promptly located, detained, and later identified by police as 34-year-old Parris Davis, reportedly without a permanent address. In the course of the altercation, the victim claimed that during the argument, the suspect pointed a handgun at him, a detail highlighted by the MPD in their official release.
The MPD's official statement details that Davis now faces charges for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). The arrest was part of the Department's effort to promptly address and deescalate potentially violent confrontations in the area.
