In an incident that's all too quirky for this holiday season, a group of elves—actual people dressed up, not the mythical creatures—became a brief concern for the local police in Mansfield, Texas. On Monday, the Mansfield Police Department responded to a call about a few individuals dressed as elves who appeared disoriented in one of the neighborhood parks. A post shared by the department revealed that they were "lost and found" elves, seemingly separated from their festive group.
The police swiftly acted to safely guide these errant elves back to their supposed home base, from whence they could carry ahead their holiday tomfoolery. Not every day you get to see law enforcement step in to shepherd those embodying the holiday spirit, but it seems the Mansfield Police were more than up to the task. Mansfield Police Department shared the news on their official Facebook page, stating they "quickly located the elves and safely returned them to their home, where they can continue their holiday mischief and spread cheer for the rest of the season."
A light-hearted elf rescue brought cheer to the police department's usual activities. Their Facebook post, "Elf Alert: Lost and Found!" charmed the community and wished everyone a joyful holiday season. In a time of serious discussions about law enforcement, moments like these highlight their community-focused side.
