A Florida mother and her two children who were reported missing have been found safe in Indiana, leading to the mother's arrest, Winter Garden Police Department confirmed. Tierra Nikel Bradshaw, 30, did not comply with a court-ordered parenting plan that required her to return her children to their father, who has primary custody.
Concerns grew when WESH reported that one of the children, a 10-year-old, had not attended school for three days, and the other child, age 5, lives with cerebral palsy. Bradshaw had provided a false address to the court and was unreachable by phone, intensifying worries about the children's welfare.
Following an investigation that revealed Bradshaw had fled to Indiana and was staying with relatives, authorities proceeded with her arrest. "The two children were checked medically as a precaution and were placed in the temporary custody of the Indiana Department of Child Services until their father can arrive to take them home," stated a release from the Winter Garden Police Department, as reported by ClickOrlando.
While details on the charges faced by Bradshaw remain undisclosed, law enforcement officials have taken the opportunity to remind parents involved in custody disputes to manage their conflicts through civil means and within the legal framework instead of taking matters into their own hands, according to the Winter Garden Police Department. As of the latest reports, the father was expected to reunite with his children following the unexpected ordeal.
