A tragedy occurred in the Bronx earlier this month when Britney Webb, a 38-year-old mother of three, was fatally stabbed in her home. Lamont Wilson, 46, has been charged with second-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child. The incident took place in Webb's apartment on Macombs Road near Inwood Ave. in Highbridge at around 3:30 a.m. on December 6.

As per The Bronx Daily, Wilson was arrested on the day of the murder and faces charges including first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon. The NYPD is handling the investigation, and the Crime Stoppers hotline is open for any tips.

The incident involved Webb fighting back with a hammer as threats were made against her children. Wilson, a friend of six years, was allegedly asked to leave Webb's apartment after becoming loud, which led to the violence. Webb's mother, Pamela Smith, told the Daily News, "I didn’t expect this. And it’s so heartbreaking."

In an attempt to protect herself and her children, Webb grabbed a hammer during the horrific attack by Wilson, hitting him in the head. The intervention, however, did not prevent the fatal outcome, with Webb sustaining multiple stabs to the chest and back, ultimately leading to her death as confirmed by EMS at St. Barnabas Hospital. A second victim, a friend of Webb's, was also stabbed in the leg during the incident after fleeing with one of Webb's children to a bedroom for safety. Wilson's lawyer, Javier Solano, shared with the Daily News that his client claimed to have been acting in self-defense.

Smith mourns the loss of her only daughter, describing how Webb was a caring mother and community member who helped those in need, including Wilson. Smith reflected on the close relationship Webb and Wilson had, with Wilson being like an uncle to Webb's children.
