
A serious fire incident at a New Castle apartment building left one man with severe burns and several others with minor injuries due to smoke inhalation last night. According to WPXI, the fire erupted around 9:45 p.m. at 125 West North Street. Emergency services, reacting swiftly to the crisis, transported the victim suffering from serious burns to a Pittsburgh burn center for specialized treatment.
Compounding the situation, two other individuals received treatment for smoke inhalation, as reported by the New Castle fire chief. Adding to the complexity of the fire, which reportedly broke out on the fourth floor, the apartments situated below-suffered water damage, illustrating the extensive impact of the blaze scenario. The WTAE further elaborated that the New Castle Police are spearheading the investigation to unearth the cause and all pertinent details associated with the fire.
The identity of the victim with severe burns has yet to be disclosed by authorities, nor have they put forth an explanation for what ignited the fire expressly.
