Quincy Lamar Bland, a man from Oakland County, is facing seven felony charges related to human trafficking. Authorities say he trafficked two women across hotels and motels in the Detroit area, using violence and threats to control them. He allegedly kept the women awake using crack cocaine to keep them available for sex work, from which he took the earnings. Bland was arrested by Waterford police last Tuesday and arraigned with a bond set at $100,000. A probable cause conference is scheduled for December 10. Prenentice Mack Orr is accused of trafficking a woman, depriving her of food, and only allowing her to drink coffee and sea moss supplements while his young son was at the hotel. He has been given a $3 million bond. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said, "Human traffickers operate in the shadows, exploiting vulnerable victims, and controlling them through multiple means, including making and keeping them dependent on drugs, and on violence and threats of violence."
