A fatal shooting occurred last night near East Colfax Avenue and North Cherry Street, claiming the life of one individual. The Denver Police Department reported the incident via social media at 10:36 p.m., initiating a homicide investigation.
According to KDVR, police arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts made in the thick of night, the victim could not find redemption from their injuries and succumbed. As the community slept, unaware, a life was eerily extinguished on the streets they call home.
Subsequent updates from the Denver Police Department, detailed by The Denver Post, indicated that by 11:24 p.m., the victim was declared deceased. With the assailant still at large, the incident has been officially classified as a homicide.
