In a striking turn of events, the Milwaukee nonprofit Welfare Warriors suffered significant structural damage when a vehicle barreled into its West Michigan Street building. The collision, which took place on Friday, was precipitated by a 21-year-old driver's reckless speed that led to a crash involving a second car, which ultimately careened into the Welfare Warriors' office. The Milwaukee Police cited the young driver responsible for the initial crash, as reported by WISN.

As per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Pat Gowens, the founder of Welfare Warriors, conveyed through a GoFundMe post, "A reckless driver tore down our building wall and front door." The incident has compelled the organization to quickly launch a fundraiser in hopes to to swiftly rebuild and replace the resources lost in the aftermath of the accident.

Amanda Morales, an organizer for the nonprofit, disclosed to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the driver involved was departing from a concert held at The Rave, a nearby venue, at the time of the accident.

The organization took to Facebook stating, "By now, you heard the unfortunate news … Our building was hit by a reckless driver."
