A Santa Rosa man has been booked on numerous charges related to narcotics and firearms following a police operation. As per a release from the Santa Rosa Police Department, 28-year-old Luis Felipe Esquivel-Quintero is facing multiple accusations after detectives uncovered a cache of drugs, weapons, and evidence suggesting the packaging and sale of cocaine. According to the details shared in the police bulletin, the investigation into Esquivel-Quintero began back in September when he was suspected of distributing cocaine in the area.
On October 16, just after 3 PM, law enforcement detained Esquivel-Quintero in his vehicle on the 200 block of W. College Avenue. The Santa Rosa Police say that during the search of his vehicle, they discovered a loaded stolen Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun and around one ounce of what appeared to be cocaine ready to be sold.
Upon further investigation, a warranted search of a location on the 1300 block of W. College Avenue resulted in the discovery of an additional two ounces of suspected cocaine, digital scales, ziplock baggies, ammunition, and a considerable sum of money. Esquivel-Quintero, already prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to a prior conviction, now faces a slew of charges.
Specifically, he has been accused of possession of a narcotic for sale, transportation of a narcotic for sale, being armed while dealing, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and several other related violations. He was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
