After a nine-day manhunt, the second suspect in the Lower Merion home invasion that resulted in the death of a son and left his mother paralyzed has been apprehended. Kelvin Roberts, 42, of Philadelphia, was arrested Tuesday morning at his job in Willow Grove by local law enforcement aided by U.S. Marshals. Roberts is believed to be connected to the grim incident, which took place last Sunday. Andrew Gaudio, 25, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds, and his 61-year-old mother, Bernadette Gaudio, was critically injured in the violent encounter, as reported by FOX 29 News.

Andrew was allegedly executed while attempting to defend his bedridden mother, who was able to phone 911 despite her injuries. Responders heard the suspects still rummaging through the house during the call. "It was a very brave move on her part because I think indications are that the individuals were still in the house at the time," Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele mentioned in a statement obtained by NBC10. The culprits are said to have stolen a jewelry box, a video game console, and the Gaudios' Jeep Cherokee.

Also implicated in the case is Charles Fulforth, 41, of Jenkintown, who was arrested previously and charged with second-degree murder among other offenses, according to Action News. Investigators are still determining which suspect was the actual shooter, but believe that both may have fired shots that night. The authorities seized guns and a 3D printer during Fulforth's arrest, while Bernadette, though surviving and showing some improvement, remains paralyzed from her injuries.
