A coordinated effort between multiple police departments led to the arrest of Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy on charges related to a kidnapping and robbery incident originating in Haltom City, Texas. Last Tuesday, a 22-year-old woman was abducted at gunpoint according to the Haltom City Police Department's social media post. The suspect forced the victim to withdraw money from an area bank and drove her to Grapevine, where she managed to escape and alert authorities while the suspect fled.
The victim's ordeal began at the Acacia Apartments and saw her driven to the Camden Apartments, a distance spanning approximately 22 miles. Notably, the vehicle linked to the suspect was located last Wednesday, inside which Oklahoma City patrol officers found Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy and arrested him. Holding the suspect, the stolen vehicle was entered into a law enforcement database noted for the violent offense.
Upon acquiring warrants for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, Haltom City detectives interviewed Godoy after being detained in Oklahoma City. The suspect, after being read his Miranda rights, "admitted to his involvement in the offense" as mentioned in the Haltom City Police Department's update. Godoy, a 35-year-old male from Honduras with no known local address, is facing multiple charges across two states, including unauthorized use of a vehicle and use of a firearm while committing a felony.
Godoy is currently being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center, where he is also under an active ICE detainer hold due to his immigration status. His bond for charges by the Haltom City Police Department stands at a recommended $100,000 for each felony, contrasted with a total bond of $3,000 for the charges in Oklahoma. The suspect was taken into custody, and evidence related to the reported offense was recovered at the scene.
This incident underscores the successful collaboration between the Haltom City Police Department, the Grapevine Police Department, and the Oklahoma City Police Department. As the case remains open, additional charges may be forthcoming. The police continue to investigate; the police report numbers for reference are Haltom City: #24H39186, Grapevine: #2400048657, and Oklahoma City: #2024-0094229-1.
