Students and staff of Tamalpais High School were evacuated yesterday following a bomb threat reported to the Mill Valley Police Department. According to an update from the Mill Valley Police Department, the threat was received at 10:49 a.m. via text message by the Veteran’s Crisis Line, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement and school administrators.

The Mill Valley Police acted swiftly, contacting the high school's faculty and implementing evacuation protocols. Those on campus were initially taken to the athletic fields before being escorted to the Mill Valley Community Center, which served as a reunification point for the panicked students and their families. As per the update, assistance was requested from allied agencies to establish a perimeter, and additional resources, including the Berkeley Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit and service K9s, were called in to aid with the search.

A collaborative effort from multiple organizations ensued, with service K9s and handlers from various departments, such as UC Berkeley Police and the Department of Homeland Security, playing a crucial role in scouring the campus for potential threats. After roughly two hours of meticulous searching, no explosive or incendiary devices were found at the scene. "Mill Valley Police would like to thank the staff and faculty of Tamalpais High School and the Tamalpais Unified High School District for working in partnership to ensure the safety and well-being of the students and staff," the Mill Valley Police Department expressed gratitude through their official statement.
