Vallejo Police Arrest Suspect After Daring Burglary and Chase; Hunt Continues for Additional Perpetrators

A recent burglary in Vallejo has led to the arrest of one individual, with the search ongoing for further suspects. According to a social media post by the Vallejo Police Department, vigilant locals reported an in-progress burglary at a business on the 300 block of Tennessee Street last Monday. The culprits attempted to gain entry and, failing that, resorted to battering their way through the storefront with a vehicle, ultimately causing significant structural damage.

The officers, arriving promptly on the scene, found the store had been vandalized and thoroughly looted, with over $9,400 in merchandise stolen and an ATM damaged within the commercial space. After the burglary, an estimation made by the store owner pinned total losses, including the price to repair the substantial damage, soaring above $14,000. Acting on descriptive information from witnesses related to the suspect vehicles, law enforcement discovered one to be a stolen Honda Pilot, originally reported out of Oakland.

During an area check, the Vallejo Police located the aforementioned Honda and attempted to pull over the driver. Choosing to evade rather than comply, the suspect led officers on a chase, which culminated in a collision with two parked cars—fortunately unoccupied—at the intersection of Solano Avenue and Tuolumne Street. The suspect tried escaping on foot, weaving through the neighborhood, only to be spotted by officers using a drone as he attempted to conceal himself under a vehicle on Perkins Avenue. Despite the suspect's efforts, he was surrounded and subsequently detained without incident.

Later revealed by the police, the suspect was wanted on an active burglary warrant from Mountain View. "The suspect was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on multiple charges, including possession of a carjacked vehicle and burglary," detailed by the Vallejo Police Department's post. The effort to identify and apprehend remaining suspects tied to this crime is ongoing, and Vallejo Police urge anyone with information to contact Officer Choua Xiong at [email protected].
