North Carolina's manufacturing sector is getting a boost with Wieland's $27 million investment in its Pine Hall facility, creating 50 new jobs. Governor Roy Cooper praised the expansion as a sign of the state's manufacturing strength and the talent of its workforce.
According to an announcement from the Office of the Governor, Wieland's expansion isn’t just about growth—it's about meeting rising demand for their products like tubing and energy-efficient cooling systems, used in HVAC, defense, and aerospace. The expanded plant will produce key items, including Tech Tubes and Cold Plates.
Ivan Di Stefano, head of Wieland Thermal Solutions, highlighted the project's importance: "Today’s announcement demonstrates Wieland’s proud impact in Pine Hall as we grow and strengthen our influence on the community and the industry with high quality products made in America," he said in a press release from the governor's office.
The expansion will have a big economic impact, with new jobs offering an average annual salary of $56,900, above the Stokes County average. That’s over $2.8 million added to the local economy each year. Additionally, Wieland could receive a $100,000 performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund if it meets its targets and the local government matches the offer.
State officials are fully supporting Wieland’s expansion. N.C. Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders expects growth in green tech from Wieland's larger presence. State lawmakers, including Senator Dana Jones and Representative Kyle Hall, praised the partnership with Wieland. With backing from local and state groups, including the North Carolina General Assembly and Forsyth Tech Community College, Pine Hall’s future looks bright.
