The Windsor Police Department has reduced crime by arresting a serial burglar during a recent spree. The latest incident occurred at Matte Washburn Elementary School, where officers responded to the sound of metal being pried near the school office.

Last Saturday, deputies were called to an alarm at the school on 75 Pleasant Ave. Although there were no obvious signs of a break-in, they heard the distinct sound of a pry bar on a locked door. Following a search, they apprehended Patrick Poorman, a 32-year-old Windsor resident, caught in the act. Initially cooperative, Poorman attempted to flee but was quickly stopped, according to the Windsor Police Department's social media post.

Poorman's arrest not only ended his activities that night but also linked him to two other burglaries in nearby Larkfield, completing a three-day crime spree. This wasn’t his first offense. He was already out on pre-trial release for a previous burglary. Building on his criminal history, Windsor Police arrested Poorman. They booked him into Sonoma County Jail on multiple charges, including burglary, attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, obstructing an officer, receiving stolen property, making fake checks, mail theft, and violating pre-trial release.
