The Henderson Police Department is conducting a diligent search for Jennaleah Reyes Hin, a 17-year-old Henderson resident that went missing after a family dispute on December 30, 2024. Following the initial investigation, Red Rock Search & Rescue deployed a canine unit that successfully picked up Hin's scent heading south towards the desert, bypassing a ridge near a housing development, Mark Speer, Commander of Red Rock Search & Rescue, confirmed. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, North Las Vegas Police Department, Drug Enforcement Agency, and school district officers have rallied to support the Henderson Police in their efforts which have extended to helicopters, drones, K-9 units, horses, and vehicles. According to a briefing by Lt. Jim Dunlap of Henderson Police,, the validation of video material from neighborhood cameras is ongoing to verify whether Hin left the desert area.
The concerted search effort has reached the hearts of the community as well, welcoming volunteers and Foothill High School students, such as freshmen Evan Molony, Colton Ross, and Kaeyioun Forrest who are assisting on bikes for ground-level surveys, as reported by News3LV. The outpour of communal support is a testament to the distress felt by all, with individuals like Donna Oliva bringing horses to aid the initiative, commenting, "It's every parent's worst nightmare. Not knowing where your child is."
The family of Jennaleah Reyes Hin, especially her stepfather Corey Swanson and mother Jennifer Swanson, have expressed deep concern and appealed for her return, as News3LV reports. "I just want to say I love you. We just want you back. Our home is broken without you and we need you, so please come back," pleaded her stepfather, Corey Swanson. Speer has also clarified that the situation at home prior to Hin's disappearance, was, "just a normal family dispute, you know, that teenagers have with their parents." Hin, known as Jenna to her friends, is described as a dedicated student with future aspirations in nursing and an unexpected candidate for such disappearance by those who know her well.
