Daring Getaway on Hood of Car Leads to Arrest in South Novato, Male Suspect Still at LargeSource: Google Street View

The Novato Police Department's routine traffic stop yesterday took an abrupt turn toward the chaotic when a suspect jumped on the hood of a car that was escaping. According to a social media post from the Novato Police Department, it all started with a vehicle being pulled over due to improper license plate display.

The situation escalated quickly when the male driver, upon the vehicle stopping near the Dollar Tree in South Novato, decided to flee on foot. In a surprising twist, the female passenger took over the driver's seat and drove off, a male suspect in tow on the car's hood. The police, with backup from Marin County Sheriff Deputies, later found the vehicle abandoned on Poppy Place and impounded it. Inside, they uncovered 3.5 pounds of cannabis, over $1,000 in cash, and an imitation firearm, as per the Novato Police Department's Facebook post.

The female suspect was apprehended after a foot chase near Inn Marin and arrested on Ignacio Lane. Identified as Allyssa Hann, 26, from Clearlake, she now faces a string of charges, including reckless evading, resisting arrest, and a probation violation. Her counterpart, Earl Vogt, a 43-year-old resident of Lucerne, managed to elude police. Vogt is described as a 6’3” white male with blonde hair and blue eyes, weighing approximately 260 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green hoodie and gray sweatpants.
