The Detroit Lions are taking their victory lap. This time, it's on four wheels. Following their recent Sunday triumph, the Lions have kicked off a state-wide "We Want More" fan appreciation bus tour, as reported by FOX 17. The team’s bus, wrapped in Lions regalia, is making pit stops across Michigan, offering a chance for fans to engage in some team spirit with tailgate games and photo ops right before the tense playoff countdown.
A big blue bus with fans' excitement painted all over it is touring with an array of team merchandise and interactive activities. Beginning its journey in Detroit at Campus Martius, the tour plans to cover various cities – a daily endeavor leading to their next game. As observed in residents' smiling faces trailing along, the Lions Senior Vice President of Marketing described the tour as a venture to celebrate and give back to the fans, per the details from FOX 17.
The football fever caught up on Tuesday at The Score Restaurant and Sports Bar in Grand Rapids as the tour rolled in from 6:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Emily Griffin, the Vice President of Marketing for the Detroit Lions, captured the tour's essence by saying its purpose was "really to celebrate our fans and to give back to them and to thank them for the tremendous support they've provided us throughout this historic season," in a sentiment reported by WZZM 13.
The excitement is justifiable as the Lions, under the leadership of Dan Campbell, boast the franchise's best season in history. Fastening their seatbelts for a playoff journey, they closed out the regular season with a dominating 31-9 win over Minnesota, securing a top seed in the NFC and a bye for the home-field advantage's first playoff round, WOOD-TV reported. Continuing the momentum, the Lions' bus is set to visit Ann Arbor on Wednesday and cap off the tour with a Canadian visit to Windsor on Friday.
In keeping with the playoff excitement, the Wild Card Round is slated to begin with a Chargers-Texans matchup on Saturday, and the Lions' fans will undoubtedly be watching closely as three more games unfurl on Sunday. According to WOOD TV, the Lions' rest and preparation week coincide with the Chargers at Texans at 4:30 p.m., followed by the Steelers at Ravens and culminating with the Nightcaps, Packers at Eagles, and Commanders at Buccaneers.
