Detroit Police Department is seeking assistance in locating the individuals responsible for a fatal shooting outside a Detroit liquor store yesterday morning. The incident, which took the life of a man, occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. on the 8000 block of Woodward Avenue, ClickOnDetroit reported. According to police, the victim had just left the store when four suspects, alighting from a stolen silver Nissan Versa, approached him and began to shoot.

The vehicle used in the attack was later recovered after the suspects fled the scene heading southbound on Woodward Avenue. The suspects are described as four males, each distinctively dressed and armed. The first suspect was clad in a blue jacket, black sweatpants with an orange stripe, and black shoes, and was armed with a handgun equipped with a drum magazine. Suspect two donned a blue puffer jacket with gray jeans and tan boots, carrying a long gun. The third was in all black, with shoes to match, also armed with a long gun. The final suspect wore a black jacket with fur trim around the hood, black jeans, and black shoes, wielding a handgun with an extended magazine. WXYZ provided a detailed description of the clothing and weapons of each suspect in their report on the incident.

Initial reports indicate that this was a targeted attack. "Our victim was out front of the liquor store behind me. At that time, a vehicle pulled up. Four males exited that vehicle, approached our victims, fired numerous shots," Detroit Police Commander Matthew Fulgenzi described the occurrence to WWJ Newsradio 950. "They then got back in the vehicle, and then fled southbound (on) Woodward." The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name had not been released at the time of the reports.

The case remains highly active as authorities continue to search for the suspects. Detroit's Homicide Unit can be reached at 313-596-2260, tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up, or through the DetroitRewards.tv website.
