Thousands of commuters in Los Angeles are currently facing significant disruption to their daily routine as Metrolink has suspended service on three of its lines, the RIV, 91/PV, and OC lines, on Monday and Tuesday due to downed power lines blocking the railway tracks, according to Metro Link Trains.

Approximately 7,000 people who depend on these train lines to travel in and out of Los Angeles have been stranded. This has resulted also in Amtrak Pacific Surfliner services being impacted along with Union Pacific's freight movement, which a rider from the affected lines revealed in a letter shared with KTLA.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has been working tirelessly, bringing in extra crews who are investing overtime hours to rectify the situation by repairing the compromised structures that once supported the power lines above the railway tracks and the LA River. However, as of now the tracks have not been cleared for use, as indicated by Metrolink's posts on Facebook.

"All three Metrolink service lines are anticipated to resume Wednesday morning, we’ll keep you informed of the situation," as stated by Metrolink.
